Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, is another major financial and cultural centre. It is known for its free-spirited liberalism, diversity, and tolerance. In fact coffee shops in Amsterdam sell cannabis; I found the scent of it filling the air while merely walking down certain streets.

Personally, Amsterdam is not a city I would want to live in, but I definitely think everyone should visit at least once. The ever-present free-spirited nature inherent in the city is something to be experienced. Many of the places I have traveled that I have loved have been for their beauty, but Amsterdam is worthy for the atmosphere it exudes.
