Some of the characteristics include a three-tier elevation, three-part vaults, shafted piers, flying buttresses, and gargoyles. The rose window on the west facade displays the first use of bar tracery. Reims was the cathedral that coronated 24 French kings ranging from Louis VIII in 1223 to Charles X. |
