General information about penguins

The largest penguins are the Emperor Penguins.  They grow to be almost 4ft and weigh close to 90 lbs.

The smallest penguins are the Little Blue Penguins.  They grow to be barely 12 inches and weigh only about 3 lbs.

The coloring of penguins is actually functional.  The white stomachs allow them to be hard to see from the bottom and the black backs allow them to be hard to see from the top.

Penguins can swim up to 25 mph.

Penguins can live for 15 to 20 years in captivity.  In the wild their life spans are greatly reduced due to predators.
